DMX light is designed for the light jockey, who has a computer, and wishes to use a parallel port DMX interface to control his show. The program allows you to pre-program your scenes and chases and then play them back at the press of a button. It is really easy to use, and within ten minutes you can create a small show. The more advanced user will be able to create a very sophisticated show. If you are considering buying a DMX console, then a computer and our software costs no more and has the benefit of being easy to use and very fast for creating your show.

One of the main features is each fixture has a template (control panel). When a fixture is selected the template panel changes to reflect the fixtures attributes such as colors and gobos which are all shown graphically.

If the fixture you are using does not have a template, there are three ways to proceed.

  1. One is to just control the fixture via the channel faders that appear for each of the DMX channels in use.
  2. The second is to create a fixture template yourself. You do not have to be a programmer to do this. It is just a matter of dragging and dropping the appropriate controls onto the template and assigning the DMX channels.
  3. Lastly you can email us the fixtures DMX channel details, and we will create a template for you by return email in a couple of days totally FREE OF CHARGE!!

The program is easy to get running. Simply install the software, connect the interface to the parallel port, connect the DMX fixtures to the interface and finally connect the sound input from you mixer.

The version allows you to load a show into its memory and then use the interface stand alone in sound synchro mode or in time track synchro mode to play back the stored sequences.

Control is provided by a parallel port interface box (see pictures below) which has 3-4 DMX output lines.

With this remote control board U18 you can cause 3.7U (not 3.7) controller to be in "Controllable" mode, which is no possible before you plug U18 control board to it. But after plugging you have first 16 sequences working from external sound source and second 16 working from time-tracks (otherwise all sequences go from time - tracks, it was defined from computer before loading). You can choose any of that 32 sequences from U18, you can also "Tap" tempo on U18, but some independent tempo will be restored after 1 sec. after you stop tapping.

Good Luck!
