117 years anniversary

Boarding school for blind or partially sighted children has marked by celebration its 117th anniversary. It was founded in 1881 on initiative and personal means of Konstantine K.Grot, a statesman and public figure of the X1X century. It was the first school of the type in Russia, and the goal of its foundation was "teaching blind children skills and crafts within their capacity, for they could live without outside help, and work and act independently as far as it is possible".
